The qualities that distinguish Robby Baier's artistry are the
characteristics that link many of today's top musicians –
instrumental mastery, a gift and passion for music, a compelling
drive for self-expression, a love of performance and, most
importantly, a sound that is pure, inspired and uniquely his own.
In 1997 Robby began work on SoulTube , playing all the
instruments and recording the tracks on his own analog 16-track
system. The result is a collection of moving and evocative songs
that have made him a favorite artist and performer in his New
England home base and other areas around the country.
Robby received two nominations for Boston Music Awards as
Outstanding New Singer/Songwriter and for Outstanding Debut in the
Contemporary Folk Album category. His songs "Seriously" and
"Right On Track" found their way onto the soundtracks of Shaded
Places, starring Molly Ringwald and Christina Applegate, and
Drowning Mona, starring Danny DeVito and Bette Midler.
In May, 1999 Robby was voted the #1 Artist of the Week on the
Billboard Talent Net. He has opened shows for Suzanne Vega, Los
Lobos and Mick Taylor among other top artists.
