Montclair, NJ — February 5, 2007: Martin Folkman, publisher of The Musician's Atlas and co-founder of the Music Resource Group (MRG) believes "one of the greatest challenges for independent musicians is to stand out and be heard." With this in mind they have created The Atlas Artist Spotlight, a program that combines the power of the Atlas’ worldwide print distribution and readership with the enormous reach and impact of the Internet. The Artist Spotlight program exposes artists to more than 250,000 Atlas readers; their profiles and contact information will be distributed to hundreds of Film & TV Music Supervisors, Music Journalists and other industry decision maker.
Later this month, the profiles of emerging independent artists such as, singer-songwriter Maura Fogarty, rock band Officer Roseland, pop/hip-hop artist Mandy Baby, heavy metal band Jed and more will come to life with streaming music & clickable links, which will be sent to hundreds of booking agents, festival & club talent buyer, publishers, radio programmers & more.
This is just one of the many ways that the MRG works to support the careers of independent musicians. The 2007 winners of the MRG sponsored Independent Music Awards are currently receiving year-long marketing support to enhance the campaigns for their current projects and careers. They are also the publishers of The Musician's Atlas, the most accurate and comprehensive contact directory available for independent musicians. The printed directory, sold throughout North America, Europe, Australia and Japan, is in its 9th year; the continually updated online edition features nearly 40% more listings than the print edition plus interactive tools for music business entrepreneurs.
