She has topped the charts with hits from her own
recordings and delivered hits for Loretta Lynne, Maureen
McCormick, Randy Koors and Tammy Wynette. "One Way
Ticket (Because I Can)", co-written with Keith Hinton,
featured on LeAnn Rimes' breakthrough album, Blue, sold over
a million copies and earned Rodman a "MillionAire"
award from BMI.
But penning hit songs is not Judy Rodman's only claim to
fame. Her beautiful, clear voice earned her a successful
solo singing career, which flourished throughout the 80s
& 90s, culminating with awards from Billboard, Cash Box
and the Academy of Country Music.
Bob Dylan was so entranced with her singing that he
mentions her in the liner notes of his album, Biography, and
has sent her several songs to record. "I’ll Be Your
Baby Tonight," went top-10 for her.
While her earlier successes were mainly Country tunes,
Rodman now works on multiple-genre projects, currently
writing, coaching and/or producing Alternative, Celtic,
Christian, Hip-Hop and Singer/Songwriter artists. Her most
recent release, however, won't make it to the Billboard
charts, but may help other artists find a place there.
Turning the old adage, "Those that can….. do.
Those that can't….. teach" on it's ear, she is
regarded as a top vocal and performance coach, sought after
by both beginner and professional recording artists for her
unique and highly effective methods for gaining complete
mastery of the voice. Managers, producers, and studio
engineers regularly turn to her to coach their clients on
how to produce better studio vocals.
She calls her method, Power, Path and Performance
and has successfully used it to correct pitch problems,
retrain singers with partial vocal cord paralysis, chronic
raspiness and a broad spectrum of other vocal challenges and
impairments.
The program, now available in a 4 hour, six CD series
including a CD-ROM video of Judy demonstrating exercises,
focuses on correcting the body voice connection, and in
helping a singer "get real" with a song in
performance, and how to alleviate excessive anxiety, while
igniting the spark of excitement in the performance.
