IMA Winners and Finalists Get Seen And Heard:
Ari Gold
(R&B Song Winner, 7th Annual IMAs)
Bronx born singer/songwriter/producer Ari Gold has been featured on VH-1, MTV Europe, Radio 1, IFC, Top Of The Pops, HBO Zone, Here!TV, BBC and LOGO. Gold has received acclaim from music industry mogul Clive Davis and critical attention in trade papers including Billboard, HITS, VIBE and Time Out New York called him “a pop sensation and smash success!” He’s toured Europe, Canada, and the USA, with stints headlining at Lincoln Center and BAM (Brooklyn Academy Of Music) and opening for Cyndi Lauper.
He’s also the 7th Annual Independent Music Award R&B Song Winner and has this to say:
"I've always been proud to be an independent artist and what that means in today's music industry, so winning an Independent Music Award is a huge accomplishment and feels very validating. It proves that artists and musicians can make it outside of the major label system and still be recognized for their work."
"The artists who win this award are just as talented as some of the biggest artists in the country. A Grammy is no longer the only award that means you made great music!"
IMA artists credit the program with boosting their visibility among industry & fans. Past winners & finalists include:
The Mooney Suzuki, Lacuna Coil,
Ike Turner, Koko Taylor, Speech, The Dollyrots, Ari Gold,
Joan As Police Woman, Jennifer Nettles, Sugarcult, Richard Julian, Dan Bern,
God Forbid, Mary Gauthier, Yarn, Bitter:Sweet,

The Stream.TV To Feature IMA Winners and Finalists For Live on Air Interviews and Performances
IMA Winners and Finalists will soon be adding another mark of distinction to their resumes –appearing on the groundbreaking interactive TV network, The Stream.TV.
First launched in January ’07 The Stream.TV is the world's 1st and largest live interactive TV network. Founded by e-veteran and Internet visionary, Brian Gramo, The Stream has become the number one video channel on stickam.com with over 600 archived episodes - 40 different series, and 4.3 million streams served this year.
Perhaps even more remarkable, Gramo single-handedly produces and films the episodes – currently airing 10 live shows each week - and develops the site, www.thestream.tv) – where as many as 50,000 viewers tune in.
The network adds a unique, interactive twist to the usual talk show with celebrity guests format; interactive game shows, call-in advice programs and musical performances.
Music programs hew closely to Rock and Solo/Acoustic acts because explains Gramo, “Rap/ R&B isn’t in our demo(graphic) and we can’t house much of anything else in our small space.” The Stream’s highly functioning Los Angeles studio is a mere 300 sq. ft
The totally DIY Stream, reveals Gramo, “is mostly funded by my massive credit card debt. The hosts help pitch in for things I can’t put on my credit, like rent and utilities. The rest of our cash flow comes from viewer donations, which helps a lot.”
While there are other people that do live interactive Web shows, The Stream is the only network fully committed to the cause. “[Other interactive programs] are just single shows or radio stations with Web cams,” says Gramo. “Vlaze.com ditched their live shows and ManiaTV.com isn’t really live anymore, so there’s not exactly someone else out there that’s a network of live shows based in one central studio.”
“People should check us out live and see what it’s like. We’ve also got a huge on demand section and a You Tube page (www.youtube.com/thestreamtv). Also, one of our hosts, Iliza Shlesinger, is currently doing very well in NBC’s Last Comic Standing. We’re all rooting for her.”
